Is heated Citrine Natural?
Heated Citrine is when a piece of Amethyst or Smoky Quartz heated up to around 900 degrees in a kiln, and therefore it is not "natural", but rather mimicking what the Earth does by "creating" citrine in a lab.
Typically, you can tell the difference between the two types of citrine by its color.
Natural Citrine colors range from a very pale yellow to brown to a brownish-gray which almost resembles smoky quartz.
It could be described as a smoky, white wine, or honey color.
Heat-treated citrine, on the other hand, can have a bright, almost neon yellow hue or an orange coloring which can range from a bright orangish-yellow to deep burnt orange.
It can even be so dark orange that it takes on a reddish-brown-orange tone.
These are not calibrated so they might not be 100% round and please pay attention to the sizes listed as some of them are high dome.
