Green Aventurine is a silicon dioxide mineral and a member of the Quartz family.
Its color changes depending on impurities.
The shade of green is a product of tiny Fuchsite particles, whereas Red Aventurine’s color comes from tiny inclusions of Hematite.
Fuchsite, also known as chrome mica, is a chromium rich variety of the mineral muscovite, belonging to the mica group of phyllosilicate minerals.
This stone was named after the Italian word “a Ventura”, which means “by chance”.
It is commonly carved into figurines, monuments, sculptures, beads, and cabochons for jewelry.
Note: There is a lot of debate if Green Quartzite is Aventurine and what are the differences that tell them apart. From what I could find in my searches Aventurine has this property called "aventurescence" (that is an optic phenomenon observed in some gems when inclusions create a pattern of brilliant flashes and color spots within the host mineral.)
Whereas Green Quartz does not offer this phenomenon, but this is only due to a low content of big enough chrome mica to reflect the light.
