Beautiful cabochon with its light smoky tint but mostly translucent but for the bottom part where the Iron stain can be noticed on the left and the Lodolite part on the bottom-right part of the cabochon.
It is a free form piece with beautiful polish and would make an awesome unique piece of jewelry♥
Note: on the back where the iron stain is located it has a little hollow part making this piece not suitable for an opened back jewelry piece.
This cabochon was cut and polished in our workshop from rough material.
WHAT IS LODOLITE:
Often called Lodolite, Lodalite, or Garden Quartz。Lodolite, is clear quartz (rock crystal) embedded with the formations of moss or another entirely different mineral composition trapped and enclosed within the main crystalline structure.
While the crystal is forming, there is a lull in the growth process.
This lull could be many years, or decades depending upon the circumstances and conditions within the cave formation.
During this lull, another mineral or element is introduced into the SiO2 feed, or mother solution allowing the secondary substance to attach itself to the original crystalline structure.
The quartz crystal, now holds the the additional element while maintaining its original integrity.
