Beautiful patterns and colours, as always Jasper never cease to amaze!
If you like to create unique earrings with powerful crystals these Maligano Jasper cabochons might just be the the thing you are looking for♥
Maligano Jasper is the name given to a recently discovered brecciated Jasper variety that was found in Indonesia around 2011-2012.
The name comes from the small village it was found in on the island of Sulawesi (part of the four Greater Sunda Islands).
It contains multiple different colors of Jasper (blue, red, orange, yellow, grey and beige) with veins of a greyish-silver Agate that has filled the cavities.
This stone has still yet to “take-off” on the market.
In fact, many people in the geology and crystal community have never even heard of this new Jasper.
We believe it is due to the inaccessibility of the deposit, as well as the limited amount that is usually pulled out of the ground.
We’ve never seen large quantities of this mineral after it has been cut into slabs or as tumbling material.
Those are indeed the two main ways that this mineral is sold, with rough being extremely hard to get a hold of.
