Black stones never fade away same as dark jewelry and protective amulets.
These Schorl cabochons (black variety of tourmaline) have beautiful ridges along their raw surface.
The cabs themselves are quite thick and the back is unpolished.
WHAT IS BLACK TOURMALINE:
The black tourmaline is also called Schorl or Schorl Tourmaline. Its name came from a particular Sri Lankan regional terminology known as ‘turmali’ –a word that’s used in referring to a yellow zircon.
It’s actually just a simple fault of sending the tourmaline in a certain consignment labeled as turmalin. However, the term simply got stuck.
Additionally, black tourmaline has so many vertical ridges, furrows, and striations, this is how you’ll recognize it when it is in its own natural form.
You can also see or buy tourmaline in red, green, pink, watermelon, and blue variety.
