This beautiful piece of double terminated Smoky Quartz with both of the ends being elestial terminations.
Self healing apears at both ends and in the middle of the crystal where it shows signs of cracking sometime in his life and healing afterwards.
It has a beautiful clear smoky colour when held in sunlight, two of its sides are a little matte due to other mineral deposits.
Note: the bigger point of the crystal has a small chip on one of the elestial peak.
Smoky quartz shows many different habits and crystallographic forms, but needle-like crystals of smoky color are not known.
Crystals that grew at relatively high temperatures, in particular macromosaic quartz crystals like those found in pegmatites and alpine-type fissures are often evenly colored, whereas crystals from other environments often show a color zonation in the form of multiple phantoms. In scepters and skeleton quartz, the color may be more intense along the edges of the crystal.
A self-healed crystal is a crystal that got damaged in some way, but went on to “heal” itself and continue its growth process.
The most common form, is a crystal that broke away from its matrix, and then grew new terminations at its base, as well as a fully formed termination at the other end.
Self-healed crystals are very sought after in crystal healing because in terms of our biological design, all healing is self-healing.
