Green Apophyllite — Properties, Meaning, and Uses
Anima Mundi Crystals
Green apophyllite (KCa₄Si₈O₂₀F·8H₂O) is a tetragonal phyllosilicate from the apophyllite group, characterized by prismatic crystals with pearly faces and a green hue due to traces of ferrous iron or chlorite inclusions. It forms in cavities of volcanic basalts alongside zeolites, chalcedony, and aragonite. The finest specimens in the world come from the Indian Deccan, especially from the Pune and Nashik deposits in Maharashtra.
