Metallic blue aura quartz point pendant in an electroformed copper setting. The crystal displays an intense electric blue with violet hues produced by vacuum titanium deposition on natural quartz. The setting, crafted by direct electroforming on the raw end of the crystal, organically envelops the point. Available in the Ecos del Taller collection.

This specific piece

The quartz point has a natural termination at the lower apex; the rough upper end was integrated into the copper setting. The blue is particularly saturated: from a frontal angle, it covers the entire surface of the crystal uniformly, with a visible violet transition at the edges.

The setting was created by direct electroforming on the raw end: the copper followed the irregular shape of the break, creating an organic hold without visible welds.

Aura Quartz: What is PVD coating?

Aura quartz is obtained by introducing natural quartz into a vacuum chamber where titanium vapors are deposited at high temperatures. The metal adheres in atomically thin layers (PVD: physical vapor deposition). The color is structural—like in the wings of certain butterflies—and does not rub off, fade, or get affected by water.

Care

Aura crystal requires no special care. For copper: store in a zip bag, avoid direct water and perfumes, clean with a dry cloth. See: jewelry care guide.

Quartz in lapidary tradition

Quartz (SiO₂) is the most abundant mineral in the Earth's crust and one of the most worked with in the history of jewelry. The Greeks called it krustallos (eternal ice); Egyptians and Mesoamerican civilizations carved it into mirrors and ceremonial beads.

In crystal tradition, quartz is associated with mental clarity. Aura quartz, through its transformation process, combines the mineral base with the energy of the deposited metal.

The symbolic properties of minerals belong to cultural traditions. They are shared for educational purposes, not as medical advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is the blue color permanent?

Yes. PVD coating adheres titanium to quartz at an atomic level. It does not rub off, fade, or get affected by water or daily use.

Is it natural quartz?

The base is natural quartz. The blue color comes from the titanium coating added by the PVD process. It is explicitly stated in the specifications.

How is electroformed copper cared for?

Store in a zip bag. No water or perfumes. Dry cloth for cleaning. See: care for your jewelry.
