Teardrop labradorite pendant with electric blue labradorescence and rainbow flashes, electroformed in copper with an organic bezel and circular bail. The stone displays one of the most intense light plays in the series: electric blue as dominant, with notes of green, gold, and violet appearing when the piece is moved. Stone size 35x17 mm. Includes a 60 cm black leather cord.

This Specific Piece

The labradorite shows a high-intensity electric blue labradorescence: the flash covers almost the entire surface and changes with every movement, adding notes of green, warm gold, and violet flashes at the edges. A top-tier labradorite within the blue color range.

The bezel was constructed by electroforming with an organic and irregular profile, without the symmetry of a conventional setting. The circular bail at the top is also electroformed copper, with a rough texture that contrasts with the stone's shine.

Labradorescence

Labradorescence is an optical phenomenon caused by light interference in alternating microscopic layers within the crystal. The intense blue corresponds to lamellae with a specific spacing that preferentially diffracts blue wavelengths. The more uniform the lamellar plane, the purer and brighter the flash.

In crystal tradition, labradorite is associated with transformation and intuition.

The symbolic properties attributed to minerals belong to cultural and historical traditions. They are shared for educational purposes, not as medical advice.

How to Wear It

The blue labradorescence is activated by light: under natural light or in illuminated interiors, the stone constantly changes. It works very well against dark backgrounds where the blue flash stands out without competition.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is electroforming?

A jewelry technique that deposits metallic copper onto a form layer by layer through electrolysis. The bezel and bail are a continuous piece constructed this way: lightweight, solid, and with the texture of the process imprinted on the metal.

How to care for copper?

Clean with a dry cloth. To restore shine: diluted vinegar, rinse, and dry. Avoid perfumes and moisture. See jewelry care guide.

Is labradorescence natural?

Yes. It is an internal optical phenomenon of the mineral, without any treatment. No detectable treatment; the piece does not include formal gemological certification.
