The Monedita design

The Monedita is a minimalist pendant format: a small mineral disc — 16 × 13 mm — set in a 925 silver bezel with an integrated bail for the chain. The proportion is designed so that the stone is the sole protagonist: no additional decorative frames, no elements that compete with the color or pattern of the mineral. The bezel holds the stone with full perimeter contact, protecting the edge without the need for prongs that would interrupt the view of the mineral.

Amethyst

Amethyst is the violet variety of quartz (SiO₂). Its color is produced by the presence of iron traces (Fe³⁺) in the crystalline lattice exposed to natural irradiation during geological formation. The violet can range from pale lavender to deep purple depending on the iron concentration and the intensity of the irradiation. The highest gemological quality deposits are found in Brazil (Minas Gerais), Uruguay, and Zambia. Its hardness of 7 Mohs makes it comfortable for everyday jewelry use.

Amethyst in lapidary tradition

"Amethystos" in Greek means "not intoxicated" — amethyst was carved into cups and amulets in ancient times under the belief that it preserved mental clarity. During the Middle Ages, it was a stone for prelates, a symbol of sobriety and spiritual clarity. In crystal tradition, amethyst (wisdom and tranquility) is associated with calm and the ability to think clearly.

The symbolic properties attributed to minerals belong to cultural and historical traditions. They are shared for educational purposes, not as medical advice or a substitute for professional care.
