This Specific Piece
Selection No. 1 includes longer and narrower profiles than Lot No. 2, with silhouettes that favor vertical pendant designs or wide band rings. The warm peach-gray background projects a particularly visible blue-silver sparkle in side light. There are 19 unique pieces individually registered by variant number.
What Mountings It Works For
-
Adaptive bezel in 925 silver — Elongated silhouettes fit well in adaptive bezels. Orient the dome to maximize adularescence.
-
Vertical pendants — Narrow profiles are ideal for drop or vertical channel pendant designs.
-
Wire wrap — Compatible; leave the dome exposed to take advantage of the sparkle.
Peach-Gray Adularia in Lapidary Tradition
The peach-gray variety (or "peach moonstone") is less common than classic white adularia and is mainly extracted in southern India. Its warm tone is due to microscopic iron oxide inclusions in the crystal lattice, which filter the white-blue towards the peach-golden spectrum.
In crystal tradition, peach adularia is associated with emotional warmth and intuitive creativity. It is considered a companion for jewelers who work more from feeling than from a preliminary sketch.
The symbolic properties attributed to minerals belong to cultural traditions. They are shared for educational purposes, not as medical advice.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference with Lot No. 2?
These are distinct selections of the same mineral, with different pieces and silhouettes. No. 1 includes more elongated profiles; No. 2 is more varied in proportion. They are complementary lots, not duplicates.
Are the dimensions exact?
These are actual measurements of each piece with a tolerance of ±0.5 mm; they are freeform cabochons not industrially calibrated.
Is it treated?
No detectable treatment. Color and adularescence are natural properties. No formal gemological certification.
Is it fragile?
Adularia has perfect cleavage in two planes (6-6.5 Mohs): it is not fragile, but a blow perpendicular to the cleavage plane can chip it. A closed bezel that protects the perimeter edge is recommended.
How is it cared for?
Avoid ultrasound, abrasives, and sudden temperature changes. Clean with a soft cloth. More in our care guide.
